Mappa Ranks among the Highest-Rated Luggage Brands in the Study in Mexico Based on Analysed Public Reviews

Analysis conducted using YouScan across 1,433 public mentions of six luggage brands—Mappa, American Tourister, Samsonite, Cloe, Lipault, and Thule—published between July 30, 2025, and July 30, 2026.
Last year, Mappa did something very few brands dare to do: it put its reputation to the test with real, public data. The aim was to assess the claim—the highest-rated luggage brand in Mexico.
And here’s the interesting part. A claim like that has an expiration date. Conversations change, new competitors enter the market, consumers become more demanding… and what was true in 2025 isn't necessarily true today.
So, we measured it again. Using the filters and methodology described below.
Spoiler: Mappa ranked among the highest-rated brands in the study. 🧳✨
🔍 How the Research Was Done
No internal surveys, no focus groups in a room with cold coffee. This came directly from real people's conversations.
We built a Boolean query in YouScan to monitor Mappa alongside its primary competitors in the Mexican market in parallel: American Tourister, Samsonite, Cloe, Lipault, and Thule. Then, we analyzed the reviews left by users of each brand's luggage, classifying them by sentiment and the specific product feature mentioned.
To make it clear where these numbers come from: the mentions originate from public Spanish-language sources within the Mexican market—specifically product review sites—indexed by the platform. We excluded mentions containing the words “bag” (bolsa) and “backpack” (mochila) to focus exclusively on suitcases, and we applied the exact same filters and time frame to all six brands.
Two clarifications worth putting in writing. First: these six brands do not make up the entire Mexican luggage market, so the findings apply strictly to this set and not to the category as a whole. Second: anyone leaving a review does so voluntarily, not because they were chosen at random, meaning this is not a representative sample of all buyers. It is the public conversation, as it stands.
In other words: the exact same rules for everyone. Same field, same referee.
What follows is what consumers actually said. We just organized it.
📊 Mappa Doesn't Compete for the Conversation in the Study. It Dominates It.
802 mentions: more than double the second-place brand
During the analyzed period, from July 30, 2025 to July 30, 2026, Mappa registered 802 total mentions—the highest number in the entire study.
To put that into perspective: the second most mentioned brand, American Tourister, reached 335. Samsonite, a brand with over a century of global history, came in close to 190.

Within the analyzed mentions, the number of references to Mappa is higher than that for all the other brands in the study combined: 802 mentions compared to 631 for the other five combined.
You earn it suitcase by suitcase.
781 positive mentions: 97% of Mappa's mentions
This is where the data stops being about volume and becomes about reputation.
Out of those 802 mentions, 781 were classified as positive. Doing the quick math: that means practically 97 out of every 100 things said about Mappa in the analyzed sources are positive.

And once again, the gap between Mappa and the other brands in the study is massive: the second brand with the most positive mentions registered 317—less than half.
Anyone who has worked for a consumer brand knows how difficult this is. Internet users aren't exactly known for their tact—if a wheel fails, if a zipper jams, or if shipping is late, everybody hears about it. Maintaining 97% positive sentiment across more than 800 mentions does not itself establish statistical superiority.
Disclaimer: The brands mentioned are the property of their respective owners and are cited solely for comparative reference purposes based on public data.
⭐ 4.97 Stars: One of the Highest Ratings in the Study
Mentions and sentiment are one thing. Star ratings are another, and they shouldn't be mixed up: the 97% positive figure comes from the sentiment analysis of all tagged mentions, while the average rating comes strictly from reviews that include a 1-to-5 score.
During the period analyzed, Mappa averaged 4.97 stars. American Tourister and Cloe stood at 4.95. Samsonite sat at 4.91.
Brand | Mentions | Positive | % Positive | Rating (1–5) |
Mappa | 802 | 781 | 97.4% | 4.97 |
American Tourister | 335 | 317 | 94.6% | 4.95 |
Samsonite | 188 | 172 | 91.5% | 4.91 |
Cloe | 94 | 89 | 94.7% | 4.95 |
Lipault | 10 | 10 | 100% | 5.00 |
Thule | 4 | 4 | 100% | 5.00 |
Data from YouScan, “Mappa & Competition” topic, from July 30, 2025, to July 30, 2026. Mention counts are not necessarily the numbers of star-rated reviews.
What about Lipault and Thule, which show a 5.00 rating?
That is where volume comes into play. Thule has only 4 mentions for the entire year; Lipault has 10. Mappa has 802. A perfect average based on few reviews should be interpreted with caution.
That is why we frame it with this distinction included, rather than rounding it up into a convenient headline: Mappa is one of the highest-rated brands in the study;
🧠 What Exactly Is Making People Fall in Love?
Positive sentiment tells you people like you. Feature breakdown tells you why. And that’s where this study becomes useful for the business.
When breaking down Mappa’s mentions by product aspect, the ranking looked like this:
Quality — over 330 mentions, practically all positive. For the second consecutive year, it is the core of the value proposition.
Customer Service — over 300 positive mentions. This was the most striking piece of data: the buying experience matters almost as much as the product itself. According to these mentions, Mappa doesn't just sell good luggage; it takes good care of the buyer.
Design — close to 190 mentions, with near-flawless positive sentiment.
Price and Size (tied) — around 80 mentions each, also positive. Translation: these mentions reflect satisfaction with the price. And in the luggage category—where the classic complaint is "it looks bigger in the photo"—that is worth its weight in gold.

Mappa receives positive comments on the aspects analyzed.
🤖 We Asked Insights Copilot (and It Didn't Hesitate)
Numbers say a lot, but people's actual words tell another story. For that, we used Insights Copilot, YouScan's AI agent that reads thousands of mentions and responds in natural language, drawing on the analyzed mentions.
The question was direct: "What do consumers like about our brand or products?"

And this was its response (an automated summary of opinions, not independent product verification):
✅ Exceptional quality and durability. Consumers note that the luggage withstands heavy use without damage—not just "it looks sturdy," but it actually survived the trip.
✅ Outstanding customer service. Assistance throughout the buying process repeatedly comes up as a standalone positive point.
✅ The option to customize luggage. A significant differentiator that directly boosts brand satisfaction.
✅ Sleek design. A common reason for satisfaction and a clear driver of Mappa’s appeal.
And here is a detail that only becomes visible when comparing year-over-year data: customization didn't appear in the previous analysis. In 2025, the conversation revolved around quality, materials, and value for money. Today, consumers are talking about making the luggage their own.
That’s no longer just a review. That’s a product insight.
🎯 The Claim, Limited to the Study
With this data on the table, Mappa can say it out loud once again with its head held high:
Mappa is one of the highest-rated luggage brands in the study in Mexico.
With a precision that doesn't dilute its strength: the claim applies specifically to the six brands analyzed, the public sources consulted, and the period between July 30, 2025, and July 30, 2026.
Not because its marketing department says so. It is reflected in the opinions published by users in the analyzed sources.
And if anyone asks for proof, four points summarize the entire study:
Most mentioned of any luggage brand in the analysis: 802 mentions.
Highest positive mention volume, with 781 positive mentions—more than double its closest competitor.
Consistent, holding a 97% positive sentiment rate in a category where consumers don't forgive even a single loose wheel.
And highly rated, with an average score of 4.97 stars compared to 4.95 for American Tourister and Cloe with a comparable review volume.
✨ Does Your Brand Want a Claim That Can Stand Up to Scrutiny?
The difference between "we are the best" and "We show how we are rated in the analyzed reviews", and here is the data" is the difference between a slogan and a proof point.
Mappa chose the second one. Two years in a row.
